The Sicilian composer Paolo Buonvino dives into the world of electronics by creating a personal universe of ironic sounds, modern and full of mingling with a look at the tradition of the best Italian comedy. “I had fun thinking about a rich and ironic world of sound, modern and that would make the most of the comic and futuristic look of the film” says Buonvino.

“I used reggae rhythms and gospel choirs, electronic and dubstep sounds as well as an orchestra of woodwinds and strings”. Thanks to recent collaborations with Jovanotti I wanted to involve some of his closest collaborators in this project: Saturnino (who remixed two songs for the CD), Christian Rigano and his synthesizers, guitars of Riccardo Onori and Pino Pischetola engineer of undisputed talent”. The main musician Antonio Albanese declares: “the Qualunquemente group remained the same. Paolo joined, I did not know him personally, I knew Giulio Manfredonia. I immediately thought it was difficult to make music for this film. Paolo, however, was able to create sounds that have lent themselves to the service of the film, and fitting perfectly with the images. Meeting Paolo professionally was a nice, pleasant and he is a special person. He arrived without any pretension where there was a team that worked perfectly, as usually happens when you are dealing with a great professional. It was a very positive meeting”.

The director Giulio Manfredonia remarks: “Working with Paolo Buonvino was a great pleasure. And not just because he is a real musician, you can do all kinds of music and propose it with the simplicity that is characteristic of those who know what they do, but because he is a passionate and stubborn film lover and even more than me, and he is in love and at the service of the story as I am, which is essential not only to make beautiful music, but also music that helps the film. The music that Paolo created describes the film better than words the “worlds” that Antonio opens and introduces, finding as Antonio does with words and gestures, something unique and simple, seemingly instinctive but actually the result of a great job, which is the essence of humor, that is a wonderful blend of immediacy and complexity. His choices are always surprising and yet totally adherent to the images, and undoubtedly in the tradition of Italian comedy, his work will always give you an idea, a novelty, an invention. And fit in the film quite naturally, but leaving his mark. ”
